It is genuinely good at producing a first draft, pulling structured fields out of messy documents, and making a pile of old text searchable. Those three cover most of the real wins available to a small business today.
It is the wrong tool for anything with a definite answer, such as totals, tax or stock levels, where ordinary code is both cheaper and correct. And it does not belong in unsupervised contact with your customers, which is the request we push back on most often.
